richard boyd's Restoration
I've had this X7 for about 12 months, she was a German import. I swapped the original wheels with Jason (amscratchinmeedagen) so he has got spoked wheels on his race bike.
I (sensairich) have now got the usual mag wheels. The frame forks and wheels have been powder coated, all bearings and seals, nuts and bolts have been replaced with stainless ones. 50% of seals are replaced with genuine Suzuki and the rest are patten ones. The engine has been completely stripped and rebuilt with a light porting job done, I've added racing reeds and filters.
She has had a brand new wiring loom courtesy of x7 Dave and some magura clipons. All the aluminium has been polished. I am now working on a single seat conversion i.e. making a mould. The original seat has been cut in half and carved to form a more racy seat position.
The bike has been started, it ran after the second attempt since then I've balanced the carbs so all that is left to do is paint the tank and plastics and a few bits and bobs, then time for mot!
The total job time has taken 3 weeks although spread over a bit longer due to waiting for powder coating and parts etc
